...dead thread?. Not entirely - I'll leave it to Mabdalla to fill in the details but I've parsed a few C.V.'s with his parser and it picks up basic info - but tbh I think there are open source projects out there based upon Lucene and GATE which can do parsing pretty much 'out of the box'.. without ...

OpenCATS.ORG site updates

I've done a little work to update the forum structure and the wiki structure, and have simplified the demo site for both OpenCATS and the Joomla front-end (all linked from the new menu options along the top of the wiki and forums) It should all be working correctly - but as with all times you use mo...

I'm afraid I'm not used to Apache installs. All I know to do is SQL dump, permissions (CHMOD) and setting the DB configurations, upload, hit install and go. there are terms in the install instructions, such as the ones you highlighted, that I don't even recognize. Not sure if I'll be able to get it...

Hi Elena, some webhosts are a pain for shared services. However unless you're running the resume parsing services, it should be simple. The first steps are to create the database and user before trying the installation. You should be able to do this through a control panel for your hosted service? H...

Sounds like good advice...pretty much what I expected to hear. So far, I've backed up the attachments folder and the db on the only server. The new server is running Fedora with apache/MySQL/PHP already up and running. Going through the INSTALL document in the cats-0.8.0/doc directory, I installed ...

A big thank yoy for bringing the CATS forum back, now I've got access I'm trying to install Sphinx. It seems to have installed OK, but as soon as I run a search I have a fatal error Sphinx Error: Connection to localhost:3312 failed. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this Thanks in a...

Hi Justin,
I'd tend to copy across your existing installation, then run an upgrade on that to get it to 0.9.1 (or 0.9.1a... in the downloads section). If you imported your 0.8 data directly to 0.9.1x you may get unpredictable results.

Whilst you're here... any requests, comments for features etc?

Hiya Allan,
