I was reading this post and i get scared! finally in 2016 i can use OpenCATS yes or no?

Hi,

yes you can use OpenCATS. There's a commitment that any public-facing web page that opencats generates will include the required 'powered by cats' footer.

However - if you use a module (Drupal, Wordpress, etc) to poll the MySQL database directly, then I wouldn't see the need.

Also, where we're reworking the code so that it's no longer the original codebase, we'll flag that the new code is not CPL, but GPL.

Ohh nice a GPL version you guys have a date to release that version? Also i can help in something? im not a programmer but i can translate to spanish...

Hi Corvax,

we're refactoring allot of code, and once it's significantly different I suspect we'll look to re-license. I've taken some advice from the 'Software Freedom Law Center', but right now, the 'original developers' aren't responding to my contact attempts to request they allow us to relicense it as-is.
