I also tried an Ubuntu 16.04 install which came off the rails with MySQL/MariaDB. The login/password screen was not what I was expecting, but as I have zero Unix knowledge that is no surprise. It's going to rain on Sunday (01 October) so I'll give it a second try.

The documentation talks about installing the "OpenCATS-0.9.4-full.zip file".

That one did not work for me and I installed the "opencats-0.9.4.tar.gz"

Have the issues with the "full.zip" version been resolved?

I undated the install documentation this weekend. The documention works with the full version now. It completely removes all the composer steps.

The "Full" version has always been fine. It just has different install steps that didn't line up with the documentation.
