Sponsorship?

Postby Ryan Bilesky » 23 Jan 2009, 11:32

Hello,

I own a small company and have been looking into ATS' and I found this, because I am a small startup I prefer open source, very affordable but there seems to be no open source ATS that I could find, and this well from the sounds of it you guys need to start from scratch to be truly OS because of licensing issues. I would like to sponsor your project to develop an open source ATS. Would this be something you guys would be interested in?

I can provide some server space, and a small check to cover costs such as the domain, ect. And anything else you guys need that I can afford to provide.

yeah, I know it sucks. However it does mean you can do pretty much as you like! Maybe an OSATS project on sourceforge (pointing here) would encourage things?

Is hosting this domain really costy? I thought the real costs were in the development itself and managing the life cycle, not in the server space and domain stuff.

However, if these are the costs we are looking at, i do have loads of space on my hosting server and if you like i can take care of hosting and being online for this forum for the coming 10 years; all on my account. including all email services, svn repo, domain expenses, everything. What i'd like to see is MORE PHP Developers poured into the development of the project. At least One Senior Technologist who is very familiar with todays PHP Development trends. Moreover, i have experience in the analysis and management of such systems from a business perspective which is a key factor in the buildup of a real open source ATS.

I suggest we start building up the following:
1- A Road map of current and future development of system features.
2- Removal of all CATSONE related material from the project
3- Re-architecture of the whole system to allow for more modularity, including user management, security and application/module management.

In my opinion, if i can get my hands on a bunch of real smart technology oriented software development guys, i promise u i'll build u the next largest internet database for recruitment. Its just i'm only one hand, and such large solutions need many dependable and accountable people. Those who are really skilled and committed to the Fight.

I need to see people who are WANT to make a difference. Not just looking for personal traits.
