There's still the option of re-writing the app under the GPL, but that'll take developer contributions far beyond what's happened to date. If catsone wanted to rewrite the license to an 'official' license- I suspect that they'd use the CPAL http://www.opensource.org/licenses/cpal_1.0 which is very close to the CPL 1.1 indeed. No doubt google would object to the CPAL as well!
Since the CPL is based off of MPL, and Google's saying that MPL is bad juju, does this have any effect on CATS?
