It looks as though entirely separate information is maintained - but just to check - do the two applications share data - i.e. customer names, contact names, etc or not?

One interesting point I've found is that cats 0.5.0 is shown as being released under the unmodified MPL.. Therefore without the appendices which cause some of your issues. If a copy of that release could be found, we could check to see if it's a basic framework that can be expanded to reflect the ne...
That's a good tip - the's been allot of discussion (elsewhere!) about the functionality that was split after version 0.8.0 to make a 0.9.0 'Open Source' and a 0.9.0 'Professional'. It shouldn't be impossible to go back to the 0.8.0 version when I have it in the Subversion repository and patch it wit...
Yes - there is absolutely nothing stopping an effort to reproduce the functionality of CATS. I reckon that in reality it's the workflow that'd be difficult rather than the coding - but what do I know about that?!?! As far as CATS today is concerned, the CPL is quite clear, and we've both articulated...
Sure - go for it!
I entirely agree - if you want to offer such services, I suspect there may be quite a few people interested...
Post them to the 'Cats Professional Services' section of the forum..
<snip> Thanks thanks thanks!!!!!!!!!! You've very welcome! I'm coming from the same place as you - not a coder but want the dialogue to continue. I'm happy to hack around some code now and then and see what happens :-) As I've said elsewhere - if you have some contacts also using CATS - let them kn...
Yes - I wouldn't expect Cognizo to offer support by default for any forked version of CATS. If someone wanted to offer complete support for a forked version, then I'm sure that's feasible. Right now the license prohibits offering SaaS.
Hey Russ, Correct me if I am wrong. I thought we did not had to bother with the GPL licence anymore since catsone stopped to develop the OS version ? Unfortunately (in this case!), the original CATSONE developers own their own code - and unless they signed their code over to GPL, we have to stick w...
count me into this list... have been using cats since 0.6 release can post about challenges faced by us technology wise and how we overcame them... i.e. if these kind of discussions are encouraged. I think the real challenge here is building the open source community from scratch. Can put in some t...
