Hi Wayne,

I have been thinking about this a little. As far as I understand, OpenCATS only currently has translations for Spanish and German.

However, I just installed a google translate Chrome extension I found here, https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... 81EzAqzxhw

And tested it out on our demo site: demo.opencats.org

Would you mind giving that a try and seeing if that is a reasonable option for you?

In the meantime, I'm going to look at the code and see how hard it would be to translate the interface. If it's something I can do, would you be willing to read it, and tell me what needs adjusting? I can't read Chinese :)

Thanks cptr13

I will try it hope it's working well. I just went through the source code and found there is langs file in the /lib/tinymce/. does this file for language pack? do this code responsible for UI language?

I have translated OpenCats 9.02 to the Dutch language. It took me more than 40 hours to do it for approx. 85%.

Some words to translate are difficult to find in the code and some words have to be changed in the database.

Greetings

Hi Everyone,

we've had some discussions in our slack channel on how to reintroduce this - as we have historically had internationalisations and language files (in the fork OSATS, see here https://github.com/RussH/OSATS/blob/mas ... system.ini)
*NOTE - this fork is UNSUPPORTED and CRUFTY! DO NOT USE IN PRODUCTION!

However, rather than bring this code back into the current version we're looking to incorporate i18n as part of a base code rework to a new php framework (symphony). It's underway but wont be immediate.

If you're a coder, and want to pull out the 'old' i18n feature into your own fork temporarily then feel free.. but with a move to Mandarin etc, then it's far more than just 'translate a few words' and I suspect you're better waiting a while. As with all things, I'm sure it'd move faster with more help - so if you have some skilled programmers, tell them to join the development effort!
