resume indexing

I have cats 0.91 installed and running. for some reason it is not allowing me to attach resumes to candidate profiles as resumes. if i select add attachment the window pops up I browse for my .doc file and click create attachment. It comes back witha webpage error screen. If I click the other radio button for resume "No" then it uploads the file fine with the note that it will not be added to the indexing for canddiate search.

My assumption is that there is something wrong with the converters that convert files to text that allow the indexing. The install script for the resume indexing tools installs those into the c:/ drive while my www folder is on my d:/ drive. does that matter and if so what is the recommended fix. If it doesn ot matter what can be causing this problem. I obviously need by resumes indexed.

I have an older version 0.80 wunning on another server that seems to run fine.

I am also trying to figure out how to strip out the bulk insert feature from 0.80 and put it in 0.91 or rewrite it on my own.

Thanks for the help.

Mark

Hey Mark,

you're running this on windows? There's an updated WAMP release on the forums... I'd recommend you use that. Let me know if you need the URL

Any thoughts on how the converters actually interact with CATS? I am not using wamp for my install I am using PHP and mysql through IIS. I did install Wamp to get the database and php configured but I am not using the apache interface for publishing the app. I assume this could be cause but would think that the back end should still work the same. If you know of any details in the interactions that would help me keep an eye out for something along the way I would appreciate it.

yeah, they're just tools that convert html/rtf/pdf/doc files ot text, and then the text files can be searched for your desired text string. So - check that the tools listed on the install page are in your PATH statement?

The path is correct. Looks like i am getting some sql errors on the dashboard page too when doing candidate lookups a the bottom. it appears the error is looking for a site id that is not passing along properly from somewhere. I wonder if the tw ocould be related and if ther is some hearder detail in the document table that is corrupt. I may try to do a fresh install and reimport my data. Do you have any other ideas?

Check your Apache / sql logs for errors - should point you in the right direction.
