Hi, I have a new installation using XAMPP-PHP on Windows 10. No errors on installation. I had errors using v7 so reverted to 5.6

Access denied for user 'cats'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
I created a DB as opencats, with a user of opencats and cats. I tried hostname localhost and 127.0.0.1 but the same error. I've seen very similar questions but non of the solutions seemed to help.
