Synology Docker Installation

Post by Aardwolf » 28 May 2019, 10:50

Hi,

I'm a windows user of opencats but recently got a synology NAS.
Spent a couple days messing around with docker and just started exploring if I could migrate opencats to my NAS, when I found results on docker-hub for opencats.

I've been trying the various different images but have not been successful so far.
Documentation on the readthedocs site says it's possible, but alas, nothing specific.
The github page has commands but my NAS docker doesn't have a console, so I can't do that either.
What am I missing?

Please help.
Thanks.

HI,

this is a standard LAMP application, so if you can run Mysql & Apache on your NAS then you can install this. the additional functionality (full-text search, resume indexing) does require some packages that wont have been built for the custom Synology processor, but basic functionality will be there.

I've installed on both Synology and Qnap, I thought I'd written this up, but it doesn't appear that I did.

It's very close to the shared hosting installation, which isn't too hard.
