I can't login after running the install wizard, this is due to a php error expecting a MySQL object but getting a boolean. I saw elsewhere in this forum the solution is go down to PHP 7.2... after much searching I can't find a windows download for 7.2. any ideas of where I can find one?

You can download PHP 7.2 for Windows from the official PHP archives:
PHP 7.2.20 (Non-Thread Safe, x64)
PHP 7.2.2 (Thread Safe, x86)
These versions are available on the official PHP for Windows archives.
PHP
Please note that PHP 7.2 has reached its end of life and no longer receives security updates. It's recommended to use it only if necessary for compatibility reasons and to upgrade to a supported version when possible.

Since you are looking for PHP v7.2.x, on the Windows platform.

You can try out the XAMPP platform
