Introducing me

Hi all,

I am glad I found this forum. Just as I decided to use and implement CATS for the recruitment company I am working for it all went offline. We've implemented Cats 0.9.1 but there are plenty of questions and enhancements that I would like to see / or contribute in.

I am currently designing a decent front end for CATS (job portal-ish) and I was wondering if there are more users out there that have done so. I would like to see the implementation of that.

Further more I have a few things on my wish list, but will post these in the appropriate threads in due time.

I am located in the Netherlands, my background is IT, mainly consultancy/project management, and development on large mainframe or IBM midrange platforms for MNC's. Over the last few years I am trying to get myself acquainted with designing and developing web applications, and as such am proficient in using PHP and MySQL. I have no clue what svn and tarballs are though

Again, I am glad the CATS community is still alive, and I look forward to participate as much as I can.

Ronald

Hi Ronald - welcome aboard, I think there are allot of people in a similar situation to yourself - but we're here to help one-another regardless of the original developers.

I've had some work done to produce a Joomla module to act as a CATS front-end. Check it out and see what you think - it's still Proof of Concept today.

Hello! I hope OpenCats is what you're after - if you're having problems translating to spanish, then there are some excellent threads here by Jos on translating CATS into your own native language, or there is a multi-lingual version by Fernando detailed here: http://www.opencats.org/wiki/index.php5 ... al_version

The version currently in svn (http://www.opencats.org/wiki/index.php? ... ion_access) is the same as the tarball - with the one change that it pre-populates your installation with a valid license key - but you can easily search these forums for that key if you want to install from the current tarball.

Just PM me if you want write access to svn - so that you can contribute your changes back!

I've got a Joomla! module for Cats - just a proof of concept currently, but it can easily be put into production - http://www.opencats.org/wiki/index.php? ... mla_module

...so jump in and feel part of the team!
