Why is it that my CATS database takes (consistently) 40 seconds to open up the Add Candidate screen? I don't remember this before...

Is there anything I can do to tune this to open that page faster?

I am using a Linux box, dedicated to CATS, publicly serving the Internet... it must have 95% idle time!

I would call this resolved.

I was also having issues on the Linux box... updating the system.
I eventually looked at the /etc/resolv.conf and put in 3 new ISP-based nameservers... (what was it doing before? )
The whole machine hums now. I can now use aptitude to update the box AND CATS snaps open the Add Candidate screen now. Issue resolved...
